The Melody of the Sea.

Current Interest:

As an artist, I am fascinated by the concept of beauty as the state of the sublime. Beauty as an experience which lifts the spirit and inspires, an experience which moves from the inside. I often ask, is beauty a feeling? Is it a knowing? Is it visual? I’m constantly curious about the way beauty shifts and changes over time and space. I wonder about the possibility of beauty in traversing boundaries, perhaps physically, as in geographically, the way that bodies of water are experienced differently or provoke different artistic expressions, even when the bodies of water are directly connected. I wonder about the way that beauty traverses boundaries on an individual level also; beauty can separate people and communities, as well as bring them together. Beauty can evoke power in people and most importantly, beauty has the power to connect people with their environments.

My work is often eclectic and interdisciplinary in nature; inspired by both the beauty of the natural world and the simplicity of the heart. I seek to love and embrace the entirety of the emotional, human experience. In my artistic process I practice inter-modal shifts as a method of allowing the movement of the art piece being born through me, through the inspiration, to transform in an organic way.

To me, every art piece is an exploration of the unknown and of the depth and vastness of raw beauty, like the depths of the sea.
